Overview

The training programme provides overview on remote sensing and Geographical Information System (GIS) and their utility in Ground Water Exploration, Source Finding and Sustainability. The topics covered included remote sensing, GIS, open source GIS with practical exercises, overview of ground water mapping and management, principles of ground water prospects mapping with case studies, ground water quality, site suitability analysis of ground water recharge structures with hands on exercises. Ground water resources assessment, ground based geophysical techniques and applications of groundwater development will be also covered

Objective

The objective of the course is to introduce the technical and applied aspects of Remote Sensing and GIS, besides theoretical and practical knowledge on the subject of Ground Water Exploration, Source Finding and Sustainability using geo-spatial technology
