Review meeting of National Hydrology Project(NHP)Chaired by Joint Secretary (A, IC&GW)
Joint Secretary (A, IC & GW) and Project Coordinator, NHP had undertaken a review of implementation progress of National Hydrology Project (NHP) on 29th October 2020. All the officers of NPMU and Experts of TAMC participated in the meeting.
After taking a thorough review of the implementation progress, JS (A, IC & GW) suggested to enhance the pace of implementation of NHP. Considering the complex nature of the project and involvement of a large no. of Implementing Agencies, he suggested to understand the issues properly followed by meticulous planning to expedite execution. He wanted all members of NPMU & TAMC to contribute to the full potential to make this project successful which has a potential to transform water management in the country. Considering the important role of NWIC in meeting the overall objective of NHP, he suggested for regular interactions with NWIC.
Development of Artificial Recharge Module in India WRIS
A meeting was held on 13th October through Video Conferencing between NWIC & CGWB regarding development of an Artificial Recharge Module that can be capable of storing data and displaying locations on the map. Officials from both the organizations discussed on the topics and the decided way forward. It will be a good value addition to the agencies and public.
Meeting with NE States regarding RTDAS implementation
A meeting, chaired by SJC, was held through Video Conferencing on 21st October with the North Eastern States (Except Assam) to discuss various issues related to RTDAS bids for which LoA being awarded by these agencies in the month of October 2020.As most of the NE States will be implementing real time monitoring for the first time, and as it will be a milestone in this part of India, hand holding may be useful for enabling and capacity building of the Water resource experts, so that sustainable development can be achieved.
Netherland Joint Working Group was held on 22nd October 2020, headed by Shri Rajiv Ranjan Mishra, DG, NMCG from Indian side. NHP was represented Shri Kushagra Sharma, SJC-II (NHP). During the meeting discussions was held on various topics for technical collaboration between India and Netherland like emerging concepts towards participatory approach, water budgeting, water as leverage and contribution of National Mission for Clean Ganga to name few.
Director and Nodal officer, Andhra Pradesh GW has reviewed the physical and financial progress for the month of September and prepared an action plan for October 2020 with all timelines. They had online meetings with NPMU and TAMC two times in October to get immediate clarification.
1st meeting of Technical committee (of Andhra Pradesh) was held on 9th October 2020, at Vijayawada to review the work completed under 1st Milestone of APWRIMS, under NHP by M/s Vassar Labs IT Solutions. The meeting was chaired by Sri C. Narayana Reddy (Engineering in Chief, Irrigation Deptt.) and participated by 5 Chief Engineers as members. Sri A. VaraPrasaad Rao, Director and Nodal officer NHP, Andhra GW has convened the meeting. The committee has certified the work done under Milestone.

Amarjeet Singh,Chief Engineer, QC& V and Nodal officer, SPMU-NHP and Sh. G.P Patel,Director, CBIP. The training program was jointly organized with CBIP, New Delhi for 40 officers of WRD, Rajasthan.
CWPRS organized a five days online training between 12th to 16thOctober, 2020on Hydro-Met & RTDAS equipment’s and its installation for the Water Resources Department, Govt. of Maharashtra. Maharashtra (SW) under National Hydrology Project. There was a nomination of about 35 participants for class room training when the training was planned initially for March 2020 at Pune. But due to the outbreak of Covid 19, the course was postponed. Subsequently, the course was scheduled in online mode. Since the course was in online mode, 86 participants could participate from WRD, Nashik of the rank SE, SDE, JE, etc. Director CWPRS inaugurated the event online. Sessions were conducted on various topics like - Overview of NHP, Decision Support System, Basic Meteorology & Conventional Meteorological Instruments, Automatic Weather Station - Site Selection and Commissioning, Surface Water Level Instruments-Site Selection and Installation of SWLI, Data Collection Platform- Installation and Commissioning etc.
A webinar was held on the topic "Evaluation of Consultancy BIDS” under National Hydrology Project “for the Northern, Central, Western and Southern Implementing Agencies of NHP on 23rd October, 2020. The Purpose of the Workshop was to enhance the knowledge of the Implementing Agencies on the specific issue related to the Evaluation of Consultancy Bids. The Workshop received large attendance amongst the representatives of the Implementing Agencies. Presentations were made by the RPEs of Northern and Southern Region covering the various Guidelines applicable to the Evaluation of Consultancy bids under NHP. The Workshop also illustrated the Marking scheme/Methodology to be adopted for the Evaluation of Consultancy bids under the National Hydrology Project. In addition, a brief analysis of the Sample Bid Evaluation Format as used in the case of Consultants was also discussed. Towards the end, the various Issues from the I.A.’s on the subject were taken up and answered.The sessions were facilitated by Mr. Amit Sethi, Mr. Murali Reddy, and Mr. Santosh Singh RPEs of TAMC. The webinar was attended by 61 participants.
5 days course on Hydrological Modelling using HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS
A 5 days course on Hydrological Modelling using HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS was organised online between 19th to 23rd October 2020 by National Institute of Hydrologyunder National Hydrology Project.The facilitators Dr.Anil Kumar Lohani, Dr. Rahul Kumar, Dr. Vishal and the team have led the course to a successful end. The course materials provided were immensely relevant for mastering the course objective. The training and learning have been very joyful with continuous interactions between the facilitators and participants with handholding support. The participants were also found to be very proactive and participatory. The online training quality is being enhanced with experience. The registered participant for this training was 58.
On 28th October 2020, online training on India-WRIS was organized by NWIC and this was hosted by NHP MOWR. It was facilitated by Ms.Iti Gupta and Ms.Vineeta Sharma. There were 30 participants had participated in this event.
Two days of training were held on "Efficient Irrigation & Water Management Practices" under the National Hydrology Project on 22nd & 23rd October 2020 Aizwal. This training was organized by the Irrigation & Water Resources Department, Govt. of Mizoram. This training was inaugurated by Pu C Lalrinsanga Hon'ble Minister, IWRD, Mizoram.
Development in MIS

A new web entry form for capturing the “Details of Webinar Participants” in MIS portal has been developed. The issue of MIS Procurement Milestone updation for LOA date updation has been resolved. New feature for storing Sanction Orders (PDF files) as well as World Bank Reimbursement claims (PDF Files) is added in MIS portal. Modification made in New Tender Parameter for Ranking of Implementing Agencies (IA) Ranking.SQL query reports for MIS updation, a data indicator essential for IA’s monthly performance ranking and Bid Document Review Data (Excel Report) as requested by RPEs have been developed. Another SQL query report for Package wise AWP Mapping for checking discrepancy as requested by CWPRS is also developed. An edit feature is being added to tender details (archived) for implementing agencies as requested by Gujarat SW. PIP for 5 North Eastern States has been modified and 6 RTDAS packages were made as per their approval. Modification also made in the logic for Awarded Contracts Graph on Public Dashboard. A new Dashboard for State/ Central/ North Eastern Implementing Agencies Performance Progress (Planned Cost as a % of PIP) is also developed.
