Overview

The training programme provides overview on principles of Remote Sensing, RS Sensors and systems; introduction of image processing and classification techniques and its application in hydrological modelling. The topics covered include GIS, open source GIS with practical exercises, hydrological modelling, Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model, Hydrologic Unit Model for InDia (HUMID) with hand-on exercises. Open Source Data & Software for Water Resources and water resources information portals will also be covered.

Objective

The objective of the course is to introduce principles and applications of remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in hydrological modelling. SWAT modelling using Hydrologic Unit Model for InDia for estimating water balance components.
