18 26/08/2022 The #RTDAS – #DWLR with Telemetry installation on observation wells has commenced in #Maharashtra. The Groundwater Surveys and Development Agency (GSDA) is implanting this activity under National Hydrology Project. It is first of its kind installation in the country wherein the RTDAS system is installed on the large diameter open dug wells. Total 336 installations are to be covered across the state in the first instance.

The National Remote Sensing Centre has made the Spatial Flood Early Warning System for Godavari and Tapi Basins operational. The accuracy achieved was more than 85% with a lead time of 48 hours. It has the potential to stop flood deaths through improved evacuation planning.
