On the 10th December 2021, Shri. Subodh Yadav Ji Joint Secretary (A, IC, GW) & Project Co-coordinator, NHP reviewed the the physical status of the Implementing Agencies (Maharashtra SW, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Gujarat, UP SW, Punjab).
SJCs, DS, NPMU team, and TAMC specialists were present. The meeting was primarily focused on pending activities, identifying implementation difficulties, and devising acceptable solutions.
On the 13th December 2021, a review meeting to discuss the ongoing activities of six NHP Implementing Agencies was taken by Shri Subodh Yadav, Joint Secretary (A, IC&GW) at Shram Shakti Bhawan, along with SJCs and TAMC specialists. Nodal Officers of the 6 Implementing Agencies (Odisha, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal SW, Goa, Telangana SW) were present. The meeting's main focus was to accelerate the project in terms of physical and financial progress.
Visit to NRSC by Joint SecretaryShri. Subodh Yadav, Joint Secretary (A, IC & GW) & Project Coordinator, NHP, visited National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Hyderabad on 24th December 2021. Dr D Gnanasundar, Senior Joint Commissioner, NHP accompanied Joint Secretary during the visit.
NRSC scientists presented the Joint Secretary with accomplishments such as ground stations receiving satellite data, data product creation, and transmission to users, including disaster management support.
JS had glance of different technical facilities available at the NRSC, Shadnagar campus, and had interaction with the NRSC scientists located in Antarctica Station during his visit. JS reviewed the NHP activities and discussed on the knowledge products developed by NRSC under NHP.
NPMU visit to TripuraDr. D. Gnanasundar, Senior Joint Commissioner, NHP had discussion with Nodal Officer & Chief Enigneer PWD, Tripura State on December 9th December 2021, along with Dr. Raja Ram Purohit, Deputy Director of NPMU, Shri. Dhiren Chadva of TAMC. SJC reviewed the physical and financial progress of activities under NHP. On 10th December 2021, SJC and his team had field visit to RTDAS -SW & GW sites, Piezometers and had discussion with Vendor in field regarding RTDAS-SW installations.
On 11th December 2021. Dr. D. Gnanasundar, SJC-3, Dr. Raja Ram Purohit, DD and Shri. Dhiren Chavda, Expert had review meeting with SE of Manipur regarding RTDAS installation along with Astra Representative.
NPMU visit to ManipurSh. Kushagra Sharma, Senior Joint Commissioner, NHP had a meeting with the Commissioner and Project Coordinator, SPMU, Manipur, on 15th December 2021 along with Shri. N. Jiten Singh, Deputy Commissioner, NHP and Shri. Santhosh Singh, TAMC expert. Various activities under NHP taken up by WRD, Manipur was discussed in the meeting. SJC-2 and NPMU team had field visit to RTDAS-SW sites and had discussion with the representatives of the Astra.
On 15th December 2021, Shri. Rakesh Kashyap, Senior Joint Commissioner, NHP accompanied by Dr. Ashoke Basistha, Hydrologist, Mr. Nayeem, Instrumentation Expert, TAMC inspected the Automatic Discharge Recorder for benchmarking of the Yiedi bo minor irritation project in Nagaland.
SJC had meeting with the Nagaland WRD Chief Engineer on the progress of various activities under NHP. SJC-1 and his team had visit to Piezometer sites with the WRD Chief Engineer in the WRD office newly constructed Nagaland State Data Centre.
On 16th December 2021, the NPMU team inspected the Chatae River Bridge in Dimapur, Nagaland, to decide the best location for the AWLR installation.
On the 16th December 2021, Shri. Rakesh Kayshap, Senior Joint Commissioner, NHP had review meeting was held with Chief Engineer WRD Assam and also had meeting with RTDAS - SW vendor at WRD Guwahati office.
On 17th December 2021, the NPMU and TAMC teams met with ACS WRD Assam to discuss the issues of expediting RTDAS installation and integration, the establishment of SWIC, O&M beyond the NHP period and initiatives on knowledge products, maintaining the Brahmaputra Gallery, and the early operation of the data center.
Shri. Rakesh Kashyap, Senior Joint Commissioner, NHP and Mr. Nayeem Ahamed, TAMC met with the Secretary, WRD Meghalaya on NHP issues on 17th December 2021.
The IA has a state budget line for the maintenance of assets created under the NHP after the Project period has ended. The government has already taken action by preparing cabinet notes on SWIC.
In addition, a meeting with the RTDAS vendor was held to expedite the installation and integration process. The team went to Nongpong, Meghalaya, to inspect the construction of the piezometer site.
In 18th December 2021, the team visited the Umtyngngor river bridge site with ACE and her team, as well as the vendor, to finalize the location of the AWLR installation; later, the team performed an inspection to ensure finalization.
On 22nd December 2021, Dr. D. Gnanasundar, Senior Joint Commissioner had review meeting with Director, GWD along with department officers and TAMC experts. On 23rd December 2021 (FN) SJC reviewed the activities of Telangana SW with the Nodal officer and team of officers. On December 23rd, Dr D Gnanasundar, SJC visited RTDAS-SW field site (Hyderabad) along with Nodal Officer and TAMC experts.
Mr. Nayeem Ahmed, an Instrumentation Expert from TAMC, inspected the AWLR installation on the Busuk River- Legyep bridge (near Ranipool Bazaar) on 22nd December 2021 along with the IA, WRD Sikkim) and Vendor.
He visited the newly built State Data Center of Sikkim and inspected the AWLR installation on the Singtam bridge on the River Teesta in Sikkim.
Dr. D. Gnanasundar, Senior Joint Commissioner-3, from NPMU, visited Chhattisgarh on 28th December 2021 and reviewed the progress of NHP activities in the state and had discussion with Chief Engineer & Nodal Officer and his team.
SJC-3 also made field visits on 29th December 2021 to Kodar Reservoir in Chhattisgarh and inspected the Piezometer built under the NHP. At Kodar Reservoir site SJC-3 had discussions with RTDAS-SW Vendor on AWLR and ARG installation work (RTDAS) in Chhattisgarh state.

Gnanasundar, SJC presented the activities of National Hydrology Project (NHP), road map, achievements and way forward before the SKOCH Jury members along with Shri. Rakesh Kashyap, SJC and Shri. Kushagra Sharma, SJC. NHP was selected as Semi-finalists or SKOCH Order of Merit.
The first workshop of the Young Water Professional training programme was held virtually on December 13th, 2021.
Representatives from Western Sydney University in Australia, IIT Guwahati, and 20 young water professionals from various Implementing Agencies around the country attended. The workshop was organised by Prof. Basant Maheshwari of Western Sydney University in Australia.
Shri. Rakesh Kashyap, Senior Joint Commissioner, NHP facilitated the workshop as Member Secretary. The main topics discussed were faculty introductions, participant introductions and their backgrounds, course expectations from participants, and their commitment to the 10-month course. The professor also stressed the course topic that would be covered in ten months, as well as the techniques, various tasks, participants' roles, and so on.

On 1st December 2021, NRSC had organized a webinar on 5th Satellite data-based Inputs for Irrigation Scheduling for the Narayanpur Project command area. The study area selected for the development of the Decision Support system is Narayanpur Command Area in Karnataka State. Shri. Rakesh Kashyap, Senior Commissioner, NHP inaugurated the event in the presence of Dr. V. V. Rao, the Group Director, NRSC, and Nodal Officer of the event.
National Hydrology Project webinar series on Installation of Ingress Protection (IPXX) Laboratory in CWPRS under National Hydrology Project. Organized by Central Water and Power Research Station during 7th to 10th of December 2021. The course was about various proposed setups being developed by Central Water and Power Research Station.
NRSC hosted a webinar on the "Satellite based Regional Evaporative Flux Monitoring System for India" on 8th December 2021.
The webinar included an overview of the National Hydrology Project's "Development of Satellite-based Regional Evaporative Flux Monitoring System for India." Methodological features, data sets used, products developed, validation protocol, limitations, and predicted utility of satellite-based real evapotranspiration (ET) were covered in the webinar.
A physical training on hydrological modelling for WRM officials was held from the 8th to 11th of December 2021. Shri Anbalagan P., Secretary, WRD, Govt. of India, inaugurated it at the State Data Centre in Raipur.
The National Institute of Hydrology (NIH) and the Water Resources Department (NHP) collaborated on this course (CIHRC Bhopal). The seminar was attended by 33 members of the department.
From the 13th to 24th of December 2021, NWA hosted a unique online training programme on "Python Programming and its Application in the Water Sector" as part of NHP. This programme had a total of 729 participants.
The goal of this training programme was to educate trainees on Python programming and how it can be used to handle data linked to water. This course is intended for water professionals who have a basic understanding of programming, geographic information systems, and remote sensing technologies.
The National Water Informatics Centre (NWIC) hosted a one-day webinar on "Data Entry, Import Tool, Data Validation, and Data View" on 23th December 2021.Mr. Sonu Gupta of the NWIC facilitated this webinar.
There were 32 active participants in the event, representing several Water Resource Departments (DWRDs). The programme was planned with hands-on sessions and interactions to encourage participants to learn.
During the month of December,2021, Implementing Agencies have spent Rs. 11.06 Crore as against the released amount of Rs. 7.62 Crore for the same period.
Since its very inception in FY 2016-17 until 30th December, 2021, a total expenditure of Rs. 693 Crore has been incurred under National Hydrology Project.
The cumulative funds released till December, 2021 are Rs. 806 Crore.
