YOUNG WATER PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM
On the 4th of February, 2012, a virtual workshop for the Young Water Professional Program (YWPP) was held. This event drew a total of 22 participants. Prof. Basant Maheshwari, Western Sydney University, facilitated the event on behalf of the Australia India Water Centre (AIWC). The main themes discussed were "project partners and client selection" for Young Water Professionals to affiliate with and cooperate with.
TRAINING SESSION ON OVERVIEW OF INDIA-WRIS MODULES BY NWIC
On the 9th of February 2022, NWIC hosted a virtual training for NHP implementing agencies on "Overview of India WRIS Modules." The gathering drew 35 officials from both the state and Central governments. This course consisted of a mix of presentations and live demonstrations.
The NWIC team discussed the portal's current modules, data categories, data sources, and data frequency. Under the Tools & Utilities component, participants were also taught how to enter data into the ARS editor platform. Furthermore, the participants' login credentials will be provided with them on a request basis so that they can submit data into the ARS editing platform.
NWIC MEETING WITH IWCIMS
The meeting was organized by NWIC under the guidance of Shri Sriam Vedire, adviser to honorable Minister of Jal Shakti, to review the Satellite data requirements & data-assessment templates for the IWCIMS project. In the meeting, discussions were held regarding the building of applications using satellite imagery and finalizing of data assessment template for IWCIMS.
The meeting was held on 9th February 2022 and attended by representatives of NWIC & WAPCOS.
NWIC HOSTS VIRTUAL TRAINING ON MODULES OF WIMS
For representatives of implementing agencies, the NWIC Team hosted virtual training sessions on Station Management, MIS Dashboard, Data Performance, and WIMS Email & SMS tools. The participants saw demonstrations of the Station Management Module, which allows users to search for and modify existing stations, as well as the 'Manage Contacts' component, which allows users to add and change contacts based on their agency and division.
The team also covered over how to use the MIS Dashboard on the portal to comprehend NHP/Non-NHP data statistics. The session took place on February 10th, 2022, with 35 people in attendance.
NWIC REVIEW MEETING ON IT DEPLOYMENT IN MOJS-IWCIMS
Under the chairmanship of Secretary, DoWR RD & GR, a review meeting on IT deployment at MoJS for building IWCIMS was held.
The discussion was designed to learn about the present status of IT projects in the Ministry of Jal Shakti, as well as their level of development and importance. The group also discussed the viability of integrating existing IT systems with IWCIMS, as well as expectations from various wings and organisations.
Officials from the meeting gave their thoughts on whether existing IT systems could be integrated with IWCIMS. In addition, Secretary of the Department of the Interior asked all officials to provide detailed information to NWIC for this initiative.
The meeting was held through VC mode on the 11th of February 2022, with HoDs from various Ministry Wings, Organizations, and Departments in attendance.
INTERNAL TRAINING FOR MEGHALAYA WRD BY IIT, GUWAHATI
On February 14, 2022, IIT Guwahati hosted a one-day physical training on "Advanced River Survey" for field level officials of the WRD of Meghalaya. It was a structured learning programme, which included short films, field survey and desk study practical sessions, assessments, trainer-led interactive group discussions, and one-on-one sessions.
A NRSC TRAINING ON ‘REMOTE SENSING & GIS TECHNOLOGIES FOR SUSTAINABLE WATERSHED MANAGEMENT’
A two-week customised virtual training programme on 'Remote Sensing & GIS Technologies for Sustainable Watershed Management' was held at National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) from the 7th to the 18th of February'22 by Water Resources Group (WRG) in collaboration with Training, Education & Outreach Group, Geo-sciences Group, and Rural Development & Watershed Management Division for water resources engineers of Central / State government departments under National Hydrology Project.
Because of the Covid-19 pandemic situation throughout the country, the training programme was delivered via Webinar.Dr. Raj Kumar, Director, NRSC, and Dr. V.V. Rao, Deputy Director, Remote Sensing Applications Area, NRSC, launched the training programme on February 7, 2022.

Dr. V.V. Rao, DD (RSAA) and Project Director (NHP) provided an overview of the training programme as well as NHP activities. The keynote address was given to the participants by Dr Raj Kumar, Director of NRSC. This course drew 49 participants from the water resources departments of both the Central and State Governments.
NIH VIRTUAL TRAINING ON “SEDIMENT YIELD AND RESERVOIR SEDIMENTATION”
On 21st-25th February 22, National Institute Hydrology (NIH) had conducted five days online training program on "Sediment Yield & Reservoir Sedimentation.
The key contents were soil erosion and sediment yield, geo-spatial data Sources
Total participants 68. Key contents of the training were CORS Network, its various components and its use for NRTK Survey, Products and Services of CORS, RTK GNSS equipment, Field Software other requirements, Gravimeter Observation, Orthometric Height, Ellipsoidal Height, Geoidal Undulations, Development of Geoid Model and its uses.
NWIC HOSTS WIMS TRAINING ON DATA ENTRY, IMPORT TOOL, DATA VALIDATION
This training consisted of a mix of talks and live demonstrations. The NWIC team discussed the WIMS platform's tools, which include Data Entry, Import Tool, Data Validation, Data View, and Data View Management. Participants were informed on how data from any particular station is processed from the time it is submitted until the end date in the Data Entry section.
Attendees were also shown how data from various stations with varied parameters could be seen and handled in the form of charts, excel reports, and map visualisations during the 'Data View and Data View Management' segment.
The meeting took place on February 24, 2022, with 15 people in attendance.
