Regional Water Information Systems in Telangana
On 7th January 2022, in view of strengthening water resources data acquisition system under NHP, the Ground Water Department, Telangana has taken up construction of “Establishment of Regional Water Information System" in Karimnagar district catering to the needs of Northern part of Telangana region. The total estimated cost of this is Rs.2 Cr. The irrigation Dept, Govt of Telangana has allotted 2000 sq yards of land. It is supposed to be completed within 6 months.
RTDAS progress in Tripura
In Tripura, at 11 different locations, RTDAS installation work has been in progress in January 2022. Under NHP, the Agency has completed preliminary installation of Real time data acquisition system (RTDAS) in Tripura. The broader objective of the assignment is to develop and operationalize flood forecasting system. It relies upon real time data about rainfall. A network of rain gauges will be used to monitor the rainfall caught on the catchment. Flood warning is predicted by making use of these forecasts thus paving the way for taking good decisions on flood management and flood mitigation
Telangana signs MoU with TRAC
Telangana State Ground Water Department (TSGWD) and Telangana State Remote Sensing Applications Centre (TRAC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for geotagging observation wells and developing a geospatial database for the state's ground water monitoring network. TSGWD is confident in their ability to geo-tag the Department's 2886 ground water observation wells. TSGWD also plans to work with TRAC to establish a geospatial database in a digital environment using appropriate geospatial technology. As part of the National Hydrology Project, this will provide geo-coordinates with elevation data for the state's ground water network
Installation of ICPOES in Telangana GW
On January 20, 2022, an ICPOES – Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrophotometer was installed in Telangana's Ground Water Department's Level II+ Water Quality Laboratory. From its established monitoring network of observation wells around the state, the Ground Water Department has been monitoring ground water levels and quality. The department has strengthened its laboratory equipment under NHP during the 2020-21 year as part of quality monitoring

CWC Install RTDAS in Arunachal Pradesh
