GUJARAT
Gujarat's government initiated a Water Quality Awareness Campaign as part of the NHP (National Hydrology Project), which is progressing well.
Hosting a Water Awareness Campaign at school is an excellent approach for students to learn about water concerns that affect our community. It's a great approach to teach students, teachers, and families about the environmental consequences of their activities while also giving them the tools they need to conserve and preserve water at home and at school.
A campaign aimed at kids was held in the Gujarat districts of Bhuj and Bhavnagar in 5 and 2 schools, respectively, as part of the Water Quality Monitoring Program. An interactive session was held as part of this programme to raise awareness about water quality and to ensure the mobility of water within school grounds, villages, and other locations. A live demonstration of testing water for several parameters with equipment in a water quality mobile van was featured in this session.
WEST BENGAL GW
The Direct Rotary Rig Machine was used to drill and install the PHS (Permanent Hydrograph Station). Following the drilling of the borehole, electro logging/gamma logging is used to detect the aquifer layer, and then 100mm diameter PVC pipe and strainers are inserted, with the annular area filled with gravels and fine sand.
No. 118 Coastal areas of South 24 Pgs, North 24 Pgs, Howrah, and Purba Medinipur districts would be equipped with cluster PHS.
Geophysical well-logger for Electro Logging of borehole
NESTED PHS AT CANNING-II BLOCK
After drilling & installation of three no. bore well encountering 3 no of aquifers in different depth within 100m, 200m, 300m, the protection work is constructed in the middle P-Tube for the safety of the Data logger and other machineries of DWLQR. This DWLQR is installed to measure the fluctuation of water level, temperature, Hydrostatic pressure and Conductivity and the data will be stored in the Server through Telemetry. Due to installation of three nos PHS in different depth we can assess the aquifer wise ingression of saline water, if any. It will help the local people to find out the layer of sweet water for drinking purpose. And will also help to find out other chemical parameter in the water through testing the water sample in the laboratories collected from these PHS.
SERVER INSTALLED AT SPMU, NHP WB (GW)
Newly installed server at SPMU, NHP WB (GW), Bikash Bhavan, Salt Lake, Kolkata for all Real Time Data Acquisition System (RTDAS) data storage & sharing for the state of West Bengal. Data sharing has already been started. Data storage capacity of the server is 4TB (further expandable). Transmission control protocol followed in server is FTP Port-21.
