Overview

Water budgeting is a management tool for optimal use of water resources at basin/sub-basin level or even at the level of any administrative region. It takes into account inflows (precipitation, stream and sub surface inflows), change in storage (surface and groundwater, soil moisture) and Outflows ( surface and subsurface) from the system.

Objective

"The Training has following objectives: i. Understanding the data requirements and methodology of Water Budgeting. ii. Understanding various approaches to Water Accounting. iii. Overview of Water Accounting Plus (WA+) framework, fact sheets pertaining to Water Accounting Plus (WA+) framework and the utility of the concept of water productivity iv. Application/implications for water management and planning purposes."
